Tim I never knew you in life, but have since acquired a huge respect for you and your amazing life. I wish I could have met you and enjoyed your music in person. I am sure you are performing on the main stage in Heaven entertaining the angels.
I will ALWAYS be grateful to Tim and Pam for the friendship, fellowship, and positive support they shared with my husband, Bob Dean over the years as Tim and Bob worked together to record, mix, and produce Bob’s 6 CDs prior to his passing in 2012. Tim was an incredibly talented, spiritual and loving influence on Bob and on us all. I believe he and Bob may still be collaborating in Heaven!
My name for Tim (Paul Timothy) Coffman was Timotheos which I starting calling him in our early teens, however it was not until late in our lives that I found out that Timotheos was from a Greek word meaning “honouring God” which is what he did most of his years before going to heaven. I had the privilege to have Timotheos in my life as a comrade, confidant, colleague, cohort, collaborator, conspirator, competitor, inspirational companion and lifelong soul mate friend for more years of your extraordinary adventure on earth except for your loving, caring and remarkable siblings. My brothers being ten and twelve years older than me allowed us to be just as close as brothers since we were born less than a year apart and had the luxury of playing and growing up on a dead end street next to a canyon near Adams Avenue which is now the 805 freeway. Through the trials and tribulations we encountered while both being raised by strict parents we both had a rewarding and fulfilling youth with the help of neighborhood friends and our siblings.
Timotheos and Pam always delivered their religious calendar with special daily scriptures each year to my mother (who they visited faithfully until the day she passed at the age of ninety-eight) and to my family. While we were out of the country for the memorial we were blessed and thankful to be included by his loving family at the graveside services and celebration of life. We were overcome with emotion while viewing the beautiful memorial video and were especially touched when Timotheos and Pam donned their hats and sunglasses to thank everyone for everything they had done while sharing in their care and love for them over their magical years together. Another sentimental touch was viewing a religious scripture plaque behind them of my mothers we had given them after her death.
Timotheos and I enjoyed our rebellious youth together with Timotheos finding a way to serve God after “sowing his wild oats” and God found many varied ways for Timotheos with his special talents to serve God and bring Timotheos “back into the fold”. Timotheos and I shared a faith in God even though I had a problem about joining or belonging to one special church or special doctrine of belief which led to many heated debates. Timotheos was a loving husband, excellent father and a enthusiastic spiritual leader to family and friends.
Timotheos true genius and natural God given talent shone brightest in his love of music. Even out of tune musical instruments like a pump organ came to life with his touch as musical inspiration flowed from his mind and heart. One thing I did not see mentioned in the memorial was his love of creating sports songs for local teams and his love of sports was surely passed on to his son David.
Pam has already earned her angel wings on earth after tenderly handling the challenging Erva in her last years. Pam along with the loving family provided an independent Timotheos an extended fulfilling and rewarding time before he entered heaven with her extraordinary expert care she earned another set of wings.
Timotheos while you and God fine tune your music in heaven please be sure to send a melody now and then for us to enjoy here on earth.
GOOD-BYE TIMOTHEOS !!!!!! ——————- Love Larry and Barbara Evey
Larry, this was a much enjoyed tribute for Tim. I have enjoyed all the wonderful messages from all the family and friends that have taken the time to post here. I read them frequently and am comforted by them. Thank you everyone. You have blessed me.
Thank you Tim for being such a good friend over the years. I miss all the times we played in the church praise band together–you on bass, and me on drums. And the times you let me use your recording studio to try my hand at mixing music. My wife and I will miss your warm smile, and friendly spirit too. You and Pam have raised a wonderful family, and you have been a blessing to all who have been privileged to know you. You will be greatly missed, but we have the hope we will one day see you again in heaven.
I met Tim when I mixed a record for a dear friend, Mark McCoy, the worship leader at the San Diego Vineyard. Mark brought me to Tim’s studio which was surprisingly stuffed with all the wonderful tools of my trade. It was so rare to find a studio filled with such glorious gear away from Los Angeles area. Tim and I became fast friends during that mix session and thus began a decades long relationship where Tim would hire me to mix his records. The highlight of every mix session each day was lunch where Pam would make a delicious meal and during which Tim and I would share what the Lord was working in our hearts. Tim ALWAYS had a unique perspective on every subject, a perspective that educated, edified and encouraged me. I met great people through him for which I will be eternally grateful to Jesus and to him. I am a blessed man for having known Tim Coffman, and I look forward to seeing him again.

I am sorry for my sake to have you go, and glad for your sake that you have gone. “There will be peace in the valley — no sorrow, no sadness, no trouble — I see.”
I was blessed to meet the Fredricks/Coffman family at a very special time in my life, finally meeting my beautiful grandson Landen. After his birthday party I was invited to the Coffman house to visit with Landen. Thats where I was introduced toTim. Although he was not feeling well he had an amazingly kind smile that I will never forget. Pam and Tim’s kindness is forever imprinted on my heart and I am blessed to know them. Landen is truly blessed to be born into this wonderful family and I’m truly blessed to know them.
Tim, thank you for all the memories you were able to share with me as a brother. You always were a man with a plan and knew how to dreams into accomplishments. Thank you also for the Christian heritage and musical legacy which you shared with all of us. Until we meet again in that better place, may we always celebrate your life in photographs, memories and songs. We love & miss you! Your Loving brother, Jon
We met you last Summer and so enjoyed the visit. My husband enjoyed going down oldies memory lane with you and seeing your eyes light up. May you rest in peace , free of pain and free from the health struggles you handled with dignity. Your family will feel solace knowing you are always near playing your sweet tunes again.
Although we never met Tim, we are happy to know of his legacy and to share in the celebration of his life! God bless and comfort those who loved him, especially Pam and his children!
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
(John 11:25, 26)
In January of ’89 I moved back to San Diego by myself after moving around with my family most of my life. The first week I was there Uncle Tim and Aunt Pam invited me to go to church with them and my cousins. From the back row I came forward and accepted Christ, leading me on a journey that saw me reconnect with my brother, my father, and family I barely knew. Though we didn’t spend great amounts of time together, that one act of sharing Christ has been a defining moment that has led to many of my best days since. Thank you Tim for doing what you always did, share Christ.
I only met you once, but that was enough to know you were loved, you were a very talented musician, you are an inspiration to many, God bless your family, may you Rest in Peace, now Tim.. God Bless,
~Michael
Tim, I’m forever grateful for God’s divine appointment that brought you into my life. I’ve treasured your friendship and all the wisdom that you shared so patiently with me. You pushed me to be better than I thought I could be, and coached me until I got there. I know that there is a long line of others who could probably share the same story. Through your life you’ve touched so many, and made this world a better, brighter place. Your love for God and your faithfulness to Him modeled how a living faith was supposed to look. We’ll miss you my friend and while we know that you’re enjoying glory with the Jesus you loved, the rest of us will have to celebrate all you did in the music you left us and through your wonderful family and community of friends with whom we share a common bond. Thank you.
In the early 70’s Tim and I worked the 4am-1pm shift on a stock crew for Food Basket. Tim’s reputation and life was a solid testimony of Christ’s life in this present world. Tim was solid, and respected, but teased, and his message ridiculed, just as Jesus promised. Everyone liked Tim, even admired him, but hated his bringing Christ to them. During lunch Tim would sit on a milk crate reading and memorizing scriptures. Tim would leave tracts in the men’s room. Being a big eater I read them all. The Holy Spirit was calling me back to Himself. I was saved in the 7th grade, but had drifted far,far away. I found myself defending Tim to the crew during our lunch discussions. Finally I joined Tim on the milk crates and we read God’s word and started memorizing 1st Peter. 1 Peter was written to the tested, suffering church that was pushed out and scattered. 1 Peter is about the joyful hope we have in Christ – in His death, burial, resurrection, and His promises of how He Himself is our living hope through every trial. TIM LIVED THE TEXT OF 1st PETER. God gave Tim the assignment of bringing me back to Himself. Later, after all the crew had left the grocery business, Tim heard there were several of those guys that God had spoken to through Tim’s life. They had been saved and were no longer ridiculing Christ but preaching and serving Him as Lord. Tim is gracious, but NEVER backed down from the truth. I thank my God upon EVERY remembrance of Tim. I can’t say that of many, certainly not of myself – absolutely of Tim. Every remembrance. Tim has received the end (product) of his faith – The Lord Jesus Himself – Whom, before he had seen Him, Tim loved. – Now- face to face.
I met Tim, his dad Walt and brother Joe while working at the San Diego Gospel Bible Bookstore where their electric company was located downstairs. Lots of joking and visits there led to a wonderful friendship where Tim introduced me to his family and then extended family. I have so many wonderful memories of picnics, family visits and worship times with the Coffmans. When Tim started the recording studio I remember singing in a group recording spiritual songs and hymns. Tim and the whole Coffman Clan will always hold a special place in my heart!
You will be greatly missed , ive enjoyed living across the street from you , thru the years and when I moved you were a blessing who helped me out and gave me money, your music cds , your home and so much more. Cheyenne and I will always remember what you and your family has done for me . im greatfull to have known you, and thank you all so much. Love to you all Doryann and Cheyenne
Heavenly Father, please, in Jesus name, send Your peace and comfort to his family and friends are we are grieving at his death. Thank You heavenly Father.
I don’t even have words to express just how much your life has blessed mine. During all our years of child-raising, our families spent so much good time together, our kids enjoying yours. I was always so impressed by your wisdom and well thought out comments. And during these last years I’ve developed even a greater love for you and for Pam. Your life is blessing Heaven now, as you blessed all of us! I’m so grateful to be your sister-in-law! Love, Barbara
Tim was such an awesome blessing to us! We love him and Pam, and enjoyed fellowshipping with them when we came to their home. Rolltop Music Worship CDs are our favorites & we have distributed many to friends here in Israel.
I am blessed to have known Tim. Such a kind man with a big loving heart and a beautiful smile. ‘Til we meet again dear friend..rest in peace. Love and prayers from my family to yours.
Loved being your sister-in-law Tim. I remember when I was 15 you put headphones on me and had me listen to numerous songs and write down all the lyrics. You always had this passion for music. You loved my sister. You have 8 great kids and a ton of grandkids. You were a good friend to a lot of people and God was always a part of your life. You will be missed. We love you Tim Coffman.
Pam’s sister, Sharon, and I have been together for the last 15 years. Many times when Tim had a new CD coming out he would invite us over to help him name the songs. That was always fun. I think over the years he adopted two of our titles, so Sharon and I were flattered by that.
I never knew how big the Coffman clan was until I attended my first burrito breakfast event in the park. I counted 57 people in the family photo and Sharon said several more were not even present. “David”, Tim said, “That’s enough. Other people would like to have some food too.”
Tim was blessed by God, family and friends. We’ll catch you on the other side Tim.
Tim, my dear cousin whom I have met but barely knew, I am so happy that you are whole and at peace.
I have been so blessed to be able to come to be reacquainted with my California cousins, my Mom’s sister’s children. What an example of loving kindness and caring this group of siblings, spouses and children are.
I can tell by looking at his face, his smile, even though I didn’t have the privilege of getting to really know him, that I would have loved this man dearly. The gift of his caring, his faith, his music is a wonderful legacy.
Perhaps his life of 68 years left more of an imprint, more of an impact, than many who live far longer.
Now it is a comfort to know that this dear man, beloved by his family and friends, rests in the loving arms of his creator God.
Tim thank you for touching our lives. I so enjoyed our time in the Praise team at Balboa. You were such a warm and Godly man. Your talent in music touched so many. We were so blessed to be a part of your life.
Our prayers and love to your family.

We were so blessed to know you, Tim, but rejoice that you are now in heaven with Jesus, singing His praises. Pam, what a wonderful example of a beautiful Christian family all of you were.
Tim you will be missed by so many, you touched a lot of lives with your strong but gentle spirit. I will never forget your great smile and wonderful music.
I know you are in the presents of our great and amazing Lord! And I look forward to seeing you again as we sit at the banquet table with all our loved ones. Pam and family I’m sorry for your loss. Love Pamela Nevins
A life that ended too soon, but one that is glorying God in a special place prepared for him, called “Tim’s Hawaiian Paradise”. Pleasing God with his voice and ukulele.. What a life you led dear friend..always blessing everyone. I will be in the front row when I join you..
I only know that he was a very kind man who opened his home to me and that he has one of the nicest families who opened their hearts to me. I know his legacy will live brightly in both the home he built and the big, beautiful family he helped to create.
Such a generous and loving spirit. All my love, cousin Lori
